First Sail at CLYC

First Sail is a US Sailing program designed to educate the public on the benefits of sailing as a fun and exciting recreational activity for people of all ages and abilities, and to connect them with opportunities to get involved.

The First Sail experience is a two-hour lesson offered by Crooked Lake Sailors on our O’Day 222. This program offers beginners an introduction to sailing in a casual setting, and is designed to provide a memorable experience to motivate newcomers to look into more sailing opportunities.

The First Sail experience features basic hands-on learning on board a sailboat that will cover topics such as:

  • How a sailboat works

  • Parts of a sailboat

  • Safety on the water

The fee is $50 per person (minimum total of $100).

Registration ends 24 hours prior to the scheduled date. Make it a family experience! — children age 7-17 are welcome to register, but must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
